What you should know

Sometimes there’s extra space (that you’re paying for) that can be utilized in your new home build for storage. Sometimes the builder will bring this to your attention but as a homeowner, you’re not out of line to ask your builder if you can have access to voids you notice during the framing stage. Ask your builder about some of these locations when framing is close to being complete so changes can be made while the crew is still out there.

Possible storage

  • Under the stairs (as seen in the video)

  • Attic wall storage (a quick search will give you some examples)

  • Dead space next to a shower/tub

  • In wall niches
