There are some pretty clever construction products on Amazon that I'd want to know about before starting a new home build.
Here are five worth checking out.

1. Attic Wire Organizers
If you've ever been in an attic with electrical wires running in every direction, you'll appreciate these.
Attic wire organizers help keep wiring grouped, supported, and routed neatly instead of having loose cables scattered across the framing.

2. Manual Jobsite Sweeper
This is one I'd seriously consider having around during construction.
A manual push sweeper lets you clean up sawdust, dirt, drywall debris, and other small messes without needing an electrical outlet or charging a battery.
You simply push it across the floor, and the rotating brushes collect debris into a built-in container.
It works surprisingly well, even picking up nails and oddly shaped debris, I didn’t think it would touch.

3. Adjustable Electrical Boxes
This is one of my favorite little electrical upgrades, especially if you're planning a kitchen with a thicker backsplash.
Standard electrical boxes can end up recessed too far behind finished surfaces when you add materials like tile, stone, or wood paneling.
Adjustable electrical boxes let your electrician move the front of the box forward to accommodate the finished wall thickness.
That means your outlets can sit properly against the finished surface instead of being buried behind an expensive backsplash.
I'd ask about these before electrical rough-in, particularly anywhere you're planning a thicker wall finish.

4. Magnetic Door Catches
You know those old-school ball catches commonly used on double closet doors? The little spring-loaded balls at the top of the door that eventually start sticking, rattling, or needing adjustment?
There are magnetic alternatives worth looking at.
Instead of relying on that traditional ball-and-strike setup, magnetic catches help hold the doors closed.
I especially like the idea of using these on double closet doors, pantry doors, or other non-latching interior doors where you want a clean look without a traditional handle and latch.

5. Cellular Jobsite Camera
This might be my favorite product on the list.
If you're building on a vacant lot, there's a pretty good chance you won't have internet service installed for a while.
A cellular jobsite camera solves that problem by connecting through a mobile network instead of relying on your home's Wi-Fi.
I'd position one where you can see the main construction activity without interfering with the crews.
Being able to check on your build without driving over there every single time is pretty damn convenient.

A Few Small Finds Worth Knowing About
You don't necessarily need all five of these.
But I'd rather know products like adjustable electrical boxes and magnetic door catches exist while I'm still making construction decisions than discover them six months after moving in.
And if you're looking for more overlooked products, upgrades, and homebuilding ideas, that's exactly why I created the Ultimate Home Building Checklist. It helps you work through hundreds of little decisions before your builder gets too far ahead of you.
