What you should know

When building that dream home often times there’s extra space (that you’re paying for) that can be utilized for storage. Sometimes the builder will bring this to your attention but as a homeowner, never be afraid to ask your builder if you can have access to voids you notice during the framing stage. Ask your builder about some of these locations when framing is close to being completed so changes can be made while the crew is still out there. Be sure to check these voids to ensure easy access for storage.

Recap

  • Look for unused areas during the framing stage that can be utilized for storage

  • Ask your builder during the framing stage

  • Don’t be afraid to ask your builder questions
