Don’t regret not doubling up on these home features.
Two Washer and Dryer Sets
If you have kids, this one can be a game changer.
One laundry room always seems fine on paper until everyone needs it at the same time. I've even seen people create a separate laundry area for the kids and another connected to the primary suite.
Having two sets means fewer bottlenecks, less waiting, and a whole lot less laundry piled on the floor.

Two Dishwashers
This sounds excessive until you host a party.
Then it makes perfect sense.
A lot of higher-end kitchens now place a dishwasher on each side of the sink. It creates a more balanced layout and gives you the ability to load dishes from either side.
The bigger benefit is capacity. When one fills up, you've got another ready to go.

Two Vanity Sinks
This one is basically a no-brainer.
If two people use the bathroom every morning, two sinks eliminate a surprising amount of frustration.
No fighting over counter space. No waiting for your turn. No toothbrushes battling for territory.

Two Refrigerators
I love this one.
A second refrigerator in the pantry keeps drinks, overflow groceries, meal prep, party food, and bulk purchases out of the main kitchen fridge.
The primary refrigerator stays organized and the pantry becomes a hidden storage powerhouse.
Once you have the extra space, it's hard to imagine going back.

Two Tankless Water Heaters
Large homes can quickly overwhelm a single water heater.
Multiple showers running, laundry going, dishwashers operating is a lot.
Adding a second tankless unit helps ensure consistent hot water throughout the house while reducing long pipe runs to distant bathrooms.
Especially in larger homes, this can make a noticeable difference.
Two Shower Heads
If you're already building a primary shower, think about how you'll actually use it.
Two shower heads create better coverage, make larger showers more comfortable, and work especially well for couples.

Even Two Staircases
This one obviously isn't for every build.
But in larger homes, a secondary staircase make no practical sense, But…. It looks incredible! Nobody has traffic that heavy in the house worth adding another set of stairs so this is just because you love the look.

The Little Things Get Missed
Anyone who's built before knows how easy it is to miss small decisions when you're juggling hundreds of selections at once.
That's exactly why I created the Ultimate Home Building Checklist.
It walks you through decisions like these in the right order and during the right phase of construction, so you don't finish your house and realize the upgrade you wanted would've been easy to add six months ago.
